Trauma therapy services

At Dandelion Therapy Group, we understand that healing from trauma is a deeply personal journey, and we are here to provide you with the support and expertise you need. Our trauma therapy services are designed to help individuals navigate the aftermath of traumatic experiences and find their path towards healing, resilience, and growth.

Compassionate and Empathetic Approach
We approach trauma therapy with compassion, empathy, and a deep understanding of the impact trauma can have on one's life. Our Licensed Clinical Social Workers and Mental Health Counselors are highly trained in evidence-based trauma treatment modalities, such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT).

Individualized Treatment Plans
Every individual's experience of trauma is unique, which is why we tailor our trauma therapy services to meet your specific needs. During an initial assessment, our therapists will work collaboratively with you to gain a comprehensive understanding of your trauma history, symptomatology, and goals for therapy. This assessment serves as the foundation for developing a customized treatment plan that addresses your unique challenges and supports your healing journey.

Holistic Approach to Healing
We believe in taking a holistic approach to trauma therapy, recognizing that trauma impacts not only the mind but also the body and spirit. Our trauma therapists are trained in integrating mind-body techniques, mindfulness practices, and expressive arts therapies into the treatment process. This holistic approach facilitates healing on multiple levels, fostering a sense of wholeness and empowerment.

Building Coping Skills and Resilience
Trauma can often leave individuals feeling overwhelmed, helpless, and lacking in coping skills. Our trauma therapy services aim to help you build a toolbox of effective coping strategies, empowering you to navigate the challenges that arise in your daily life. We provide psychoeducation on trauma-related topics and teach practical skills to regulate emotions, manage stress, and promote self-care.

Safe and Supportive Environment
Creating a safe and supportive therapeutic environment is of utmost importance to us. We strive to cultivate a space where you can freely explore and process your trauma without judgment or pressure. Our trauma therapists are highly skilled in creating a secure and confidential space where you can feel heard, validated, and understood.

Long-Term Healing and Growth
At Dandelion, we believe that trauma therapy is not just about managing symptoms but also creating long-term healing and growth. Our trauma therapists work collaboratively with you to identify and address the underlying issues related to your trauma. By fostering personal growth, self-compassion, and resilience, we empower you to move forward, reclaim your life, and build a brighter future.

Common questions about trauma therapy

  • Not necessarily. While some therapies like Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) involve discussing the traumatic event, many modern approaches, such as EMDR and Somatic Experiencing, focus on processing memories and emotions without requiring detailed narratives. The goal is to help your nervous system resolve "stuck" survival energy, often with minimal verbal retelling. Your therapist will help you find the safest and most comfortable method.

  • There’s no such thing as a "trauma competition." If something has negatively affected your life, relationships, or well-being, it’s valid enough to seek help. Trauma is about how you respond to an event, not just the event itself. If you have symptoms like flashbacks, nightmares, anxiety, emotional numbness, irritability, or avoidance, therapy can be beneficial. You don’t need a diagnosis like PTSD to receive support for trauma.

  • Studies show that approximately 70% of adults in the United States have experienced at least one traumatic event.
